Hurricane Matthew formed in late September off the African coast. From Oct. 4 through Oct. 9, the storm had devastating effects on the Caribbean and eastern coast of the United States including mass power outages and damages from wind and floods.
In anticipation of the storm’s landfall, KION North America ceased operations for three days. Upon returning to normal business hours on Monday, Oct. 11, the company was grateful for the opportunity to assist their surrounding community.
The Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross serves nine counties in South Carolina including Dorchester county– where KION North America’s Summerville facility is located.
